Cancellation & Refund Policy
At LocalMate, we work with local hosts who prepare their time, transportation, and service schedules in advance. For this reason, we offer a fair cancellation policy that protects both our travelers and our LocalMate partners.
📆 1. Full Refund – Within 7 Days of Payment
You may cancel your reservation and receive a 100% refund of your deposit if the cancellation request is made within 7 calendar days after your payment.
No questions asked.
❌ 2. No Refunds After 7 Days
After 7 days have passed from your initial payment:
Deposits become non-refundable.
This is because our LocalMates begin preparing logistics, transportation schedules, reservations, and availability exclusively for your trip.
At this stage, costs and time commitments have already been assigned.
🔄 3. Rescheduling (If Available)
If you need to change your travel dates:
We will gladly reschedule your experience at no extra cost,
As long as your new dates are available,
And you notify us at least 7 days before your arrival date.
If new dates are unavailable, the original reservation and deposit remain non-refundable.
👥 4. Transferring Your Reservation
If you cannot attend your trip:
You may transfer your LocalMate reservation to another traveler (friend or family member) at no extra cost.
The original deposit will be applied to the new traveler.
This avoids losing your deposit.

In the unlikely case that LocalMate must cancel your reservation due to:
LocalMate illness or emergency
Severe weather
Transportation issues
Safety concerns
Operational limitations
You will receive:

⚠️ 6. Same-Day or Last-Minute Cancellations
If you cancel on the same day or within 48 hours before the service begins:
No refunds apply
